The flight of birds carries me softly out of a world that hunts the void and takes me on a journey into the wondrous world of light Colours that gently drift apart in a stream of eternal return shimmer from every side dreamy longing — is there more? more than this wondrous stillness? more than simply standing here? I have reached the end of my search as I see the old Rhine emerge from the reeds. ~ Adrian Werum

Impromptus

“Aus der Lameng” is what they say in my native Mainz when something is shaken casually from the sleeve. These impromptus are musical snapshots in the truest sense of the word — improvised from spontaneous ideas born in the studio, which you can then follow meandering through their bends and twists.

A World Symphony

With this CD the “Orchester der Kulturen” offers an overview of its first 10 years and at the same time a glimpse of the future. Sacred works such as Mozart’s “Ave Verum” in an extraordinary arrangement by Adrian Werum stand alongside cross-cultural symphonic pop songs like “Sonbahar” and “Für mein neues Vaterland”. Jay Alexander, long associated with the orchestra, sets new artistic accents with Robert Schumann’s “Im wunderschönen Monat Mai”. Abeer Nehme, one of the finest voices of the contemporary Orient, is as much a part of this journey around the world as Mohammad Habbal and the Philharmonia Choir Stuttgart with the fusion of the Arabic hymn “Mowteni” and Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy”.

Recorded at Kleine Audiowelt Heidelberg and in the SWR’s Hans Rosbaud Studios in Baden-Baden, mastered by Christoph Stickel in Vienna. A “World Symphony” by a world-class world orchestra, made in Germany.

Geh aus mein Herz

With an in-house production of classical church hymns, tenor Jay Alexander enters the market accompanied by the Czech Symphony Orchestra, Prague. Jay Alexander was creatively and competently supported by long-standing musical companions such as Richard Whilds, répétiteur at the Munich State Opera, and conductor Adrian Werum. The friends and colleagues arranged the songs so that “they sounded as I had already heard them inside me since my childhood”.

Alongside the famous Prague orchestra, the choir of the Karlsruhe State Theatre and the Aurelius Boys’ Choir Calw, Mirjam Budday (cor anglais) and Klaus Jäckle (guitar) accompany the tenor. Among them songs such as “Nearer, My God, to Thee”, “Von guten Mächten wunderbar geborgen” and “Geh aus, mein Herz”.
