The Person
Adrian Werum writes for orchestra, sits at the piano and stands at the podium — mostly on projects in which different musical traditions find a common pulse.
His work ranges from symphonic and chamber music to film music and transcultural orchestra productions. As musical director he works regularly with the Orchester der Kulturen and with ensembles across Europe and the Middle East.
At the piano he remains an improviser: many of his pieces are created at night, in a single take, and only afterwards become a score.
